Has the pandemic left you feeling burned out? Do you teach or raise kids who are struggling with stress and overwhelm? Want to show up for the children in your life with more ease and joy? Join us in this 12-week training that will empower you to lead the awakening of mindful education.
In this 12-week training program, participants will develop and embody their own mindfulness practice with the intention of being able to share these simple, yet powerful practices with children in their lives. Modules include brain science, engaging activities, fun games, literary connections, and shareable lessons for K-5 age children.
This mindful leadership training program is designed to systematically develop your emotional intelligence and mindful awareness–while having fun! As someone who spends time with children, these practices will allow you to show up for them in a regulated, compassionate way, increasing your ability to effectively communicate with and support the young people in your life.
At the end of the training, you will have deepened your own mindfulness practice, have many mindfulness strategies in your “mindful toolbox,” and be able to share these tools with children. Participants will have the opportunity to opt-in to become certified to teach this program to children, teachers, and parents.

FAQs
Who is this training for?
This training is for parents, teachers, counselors–anyone who works with children (K-5) and wants to learn mindfulness practices to bring more ease into your lives. Certified yoga and meditation instructors who want to bring this work to children will also benefit from this training.
What is mindfulness and how can it help?
Mindfulness is paying attention, on purpose, to the present moment with curiosity and the attitudes of non-judgment and kindness. Mindfulness is a practice that wires the brain over time to positively deal with stress by reducing bias and increasing compassion. Our mind is a muscle and mindfulness helps us wire the brain in a way that positively impacts many areas of physical, intellectual, and social emotional wellbeing. Consider it a mental workout. This practice helps us to attend to one thing at a time over and over, creating neuroplasticity and wiring of the brain in an optimal way.
Can I teach what I learn in this training?
Participants will have the opportunity to complete 60 hours of practice, community, and class time to receive a certificate of training from Awaken Mindful Education that authorizes you to teach the program to others. The certification track includes a Community Mindfulness Practicum with creative actionable steps for implementation in a school community.
