LISTEN TO JENNIFER'S INTERVIEW ON MEDITATION HAPPY HOUR WITH KARUNA:
In this series, you will get to know the five mahabhutas, or “great elements” of Ayurveda—space, air, fire, water, and earth—and how they manifest inside and around you, in the seasons, input from your five senses, foods, movement practices, and other lifestyle decisions that are part of your daily routine. Each session will use a one-hour yoga session, including asana, pranayama, and meditation techniques, to explore the properties (called gunas) of each element, and invite you to reflect on how those elements are manifesting in your body, mind, and spirit. and discover how to balance your own unique combination of elements through ancient self-care practices. Then, we will gather to dive into more discussion of the element, interpret the group’s experience of the session, and understand more of the science behind each element’s make-up.
By the end of the series, you’ll have taken a deep and powerful inner journey of learning the powers of your own great elements, and how to use daily self-care, diet, and lifestyle practices to keep you healthy and balanced in the face of the ever-changing now of our reality.
