Are you a Water, a Fire, a Earth, a Wood or Metal Type? Do you always burn hot, or go with the flow? Are these qualities bringing harmony your daily experience, or discord and disconnection? Is finding balance in your energies making meditation difficult? Elements are balancing energies eternally available to us should we finetune our frequencies to their wavelengths. In Yin Yoga, the 5 Elements & You, learn the balancing act of the 5 Elements through a combination of studying the roots of Yin Yoga, mapping your personal 5 Elemental make-up and exploring Elemental energy in your mental, emotional and physical bodies during asana.
Yin Yoga is a modern, cross-cultural yoga method tying Taoism’s Yin & Yang, Traditional Chinese Medicine’s (TCM) 5 Elemental Theory, and Classical Indian Yoga together.

Meet Rachel on our podcast, Meditation Happy Hour: Tea, Talk & Truth with Karuna! Or watch the video below.
Rachel has been practicing and studying yoga for over 10 years. In 2018, she completed her 200-hour Vinyasa training receiving her RYT. Halfway through her training, she knew her yoga education must continue – it must be focused on classical yoga and it must be immersive, the entire focus of her time.
Since 2018, Rachel has logged nearly 1,000 hours of continuing education and training and spent the majority of 2019 absorbed in sādhanā with long-time practitioners and master teachers. She spent three months in India studying the history, culture, and practices of Yoga across different regions. Six of these weeks were in Pune, home to Iyengar Yoga, observing and practicing under Gulnaaz Dashti, a Senior Iyengar yoga teacher and disciple of Dr. Geeta Iyengar. Rachel is currently being mentored by Holly Walck Kostura, Senior CIYT, to become a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher.
Rachel’s yoga offerings are rooted in the classical style of Iyengar, the playfulness of Vinyasa, and the deep yet subtle energy work of Yin. Stay up to date with her classes and events on her website, livingtempleyoga.com or on Instagram @livingtempleyoga.
